Construction Consulting & Forensics, LLC
provides consulting services as an
Expert Witness in the prosecution and/or defense in
construction litigation pertaining to construction defects.
Construction Forensic Consulting Services Include:
Initial meeting(s)
with the attorney, attorney firm, insurance company,
contractor, and/or personal client. This initial meeting will
be a review of the case and circumstances within the entire
case. This meeting can be onsite or at a designated office.
Investigation: This
process is known as a (V.I.), Visual Inspection. CCF,
provides written or oral opinions regarding but not
limited to proper Building Methodologies, Roofing, Footings & Foundations,
IECC-International Energy
Conservation codes, UBC-Uniform Building Code, IRC-International Residential Code, UPC-Uniform Plumbing Code, UMC-Uniform Mechanical Code, as
well as Architectural and Structural issues.
Investigation:
This process could involve invasive procedures or if needed, destructive testing. Based on
individual cases, opening areas of concern for further discovery may be needed.
Destructive testing procedures, should only take place if obtaining a
positive conclusion and is necessary. Invasive or destructive testing procedures include but
are not limited to, concrete cutting, opening walls and ceilings,
soil testing, interior tile/grout issues related to moisture, mold/dry rot or damaged property related to water
intrusion, exterior tile/grout issues related to water
intrusion in relationship to exterior decks, removing siding and/or
roofing, insulation evaluation, window & door issues relating
to proper installation, and code violations relating to UBC,
IRC, IECC, UPC, and UMC regulatations.
Photography: CCF,
provides adjusting and editing of all existing and new
photographs for report entry. Our development of digital computerized programs
allows all photographs for publication purpose to be resized
and compressed. The sole purpose of this process is for all
parties concerned including attorney firms, insurance companies,
personal clients, mediation, preliminary report, final report and PowerPoint
presentation.
Preliminary report:
CCF, presents preliminary reports based on basic knowledge and understanding
of the case not long after receiving the case. This
preliminary report is offered based on an initial site
visit, minimal photography, and some understanding of
"visually known" defects. The preliminary report may include
up to 10 photographs and
some appendices. The preliminary report is typically less than 20
pages. This report is based on up front knowledge and
understanding of the case and gives an opinion regarding the
direction that should be taken.
Cost Analysis: The
cost analysis is for the benefit of presenting a Cost of
Repair.
The cost analysis is a spreadsheet that indicates budgets
based on individual line items that distinguish labor,
materials and equipment rental. The Cost of Repair, is
for the sole purpose of providing
repair and re-construction calculations.
Final
Report:
CCF, presents final
reports based on all knowledge and understanding of the case
regarding facts and findings to date. This final report can include
but is not limited to an overall introduction, appendices of all manufacturers warranties,
appendices of documents from authors of credibility, cost
estimating, reasons for discovery, code compliance issues, photographs related to discovery
and from client, manufacturer's installation requirements in
regards to the installation of products and goods,
architectural reports, engineering reports,
geotechnical engineering report, estimates from independent
subcontractors, and an
overall
summary.
Mediation assistance:
CCF's, provides mediation assistance
for the sole purpose of case settlement. For all parties concerned, we
complement the sometimes stressful environment with an
overview of the entire case, photographs, knowledge and
understanding for the
prosecution and/or defense as well as all parties present.
Attorneys and Mediators both have agreed that our appearance and intervention
has been very beneficial in the settlement of most
construction litigation cases.
Deposition testimony:
Deposition testimony is provided
for further knowledge and understanding of the case.
Due to CCF's discovery in any construction litigation case, depositions requiring our involvement can
assist in finding a resolve prior to court hearings.
This is a positive outcome for all parties concerned.
Court testimony:
Court room testimony is provided for the representation of
either the prosecution and/or defense in relationship to
all construction litigation. Brian Daniels, represents CCF, in
all court room appearances.
PowerPoint presentation:
CCF, offers
PowerPoint
presentation
for insurance meetings, mediation
assistance, deposition testimony and/or court room appearances.
CCF provides for the representation of either the
prosecution and/or defense in relationship to all
construction litigation.
